Support Minneapolis Climate Week
Last updated October 2026
Minneapolis Climate Week runs on local support — cash, coffee, venues, and volunteer hours. It is free to list an event and most events will be free or pay-what-you-can to attend. We intend to keep it that way.
Minneapolis Climate Week is fiscally sponsored by The Great Northern, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
There are two ways to give, and they do different things.
Sponsor the week. One-time support for February 2027 — the venues, the promotion, the coffee. Everything below under Sponsor the week. We also accept in-kind support with items such as event space, catering, printing, parking and transit. Contact us to begin a conversation for what sponsoring Minneapolis Climate Week could look like for you.
Sustain the work. Ongoing support for the people who make the week happen the other eleven months of the year. That's the section right below this one, and it's the one we most need someone to say yes to.

Sponsor the week

| Tier | Amount | What sponsors get |

| Title Partner | $10,000 | Named on MCW website, logo on all promotional materials, a dedicated newsletter mention, Speaking opportunity at the corporate practitioner convening |
| Community Sponsor | $5,000 | Option to headline a particular event, Logo on materials, newsletter mention, invite to the practitioner convening |
| Supporting Sponsor | $2,500 | Logo on the site and program, newsletter mention |
| Local Sponsor | $1,000 | Name listed on the site and program |
If you're a Minnesota Keystone company
Minnesota's Keystone Program has 200+ member companies who have committed 2–5% of pre-tax earnings to community giving - including employee volunteer hours during business hours. Sponsoring MCW and sending a team to volunteer during the week counts toward what your company has already committed to. It isn't a new line item; it's a place to put an existing one.
In-kind: community infrastructure
The strongest sponsor relationships are built on shared goals and a real interest in supporting the communities and organizations doing this work. This tier is for local businesses and organizations who can help provide access to one of the myriad little things planning a major event relies on. A room and a box of pastries is a real sponsorship. We list in-kind partners in the same place as cash partners.
| Offering | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Coffee, food & bev | Cater a volunteer training, a host orientation, or an event morning |
| Venue for a day | Donate space — a taproom, a community room, a hall |
| Volunteer power | Loan staff hours to support the core organizing team leading up to February |
| Professional services | Legal review, bookkeeping, design, photography, or web work — the things we currently do badly because we do them ourselves |
| Something else? | Have a unique offering that doesn’t fit in a box? Send us a message at hello@mplsclimateweek.org |
Give what you can
For individuals who want to chip in but aren't a business or a foundation:
| Amount | What it does |
|---|---|
| $10 | Covers a volunteer's coffee at a training session |
| $25 | Helps cover printing or supplies for an open-call host |
| $50 | Chips in toward an event's venue cost |
| $100 | A meaningful dent in an honorarium for a community contributor |
| Monthly, any amount | The most useful kind of giving we get — it's what makes paid staff time thinkable |
| Any amount | No minimum, no maximum |
Sustain the work: the year-round tier
Minneapolis Climate Week is produced by the Twin Cities Climate Collaborative (TC3), with the support of the collective effort of volunteers, hosts, organizers, and more. The week itself is five days. TC3 is active all year: hosting events, building the community, writing the newsletter, maintaining the climate events calendar and the organizations database, and being the front door to the local climate community for people who want to get into this work but don't know where to start.
If you believe that Minnesotans should continue seeing the climate action taking place across the metro beyond Minneapolis Climate Week, consider a sustaining grant that supports the work behind the scenes that makes MCW possible.
The Ecosystem Partner tier
| Amount | Determined by you |
| Term | Annual, ideally multi-year |
| What it funds | Staffed coordination of the Twin Cities climate ecosystem: the events calendar, the organizations database, the newsletter, host recruitment and support, and Minneapolis Climate Week itself |
| What partners get | Recognition on this site and in the newsletter year-round. A standing invitation to the practitioner convening. An annual written report on what the year produced. Early sight of the week's programming. And a real conversation with us about what the ecosystem needs, twice a year. |
What we won't offer at this tier: editorial control over programming, a speaking slot in exchange for money, or a say in which events get listed. Funding the coordination does not buy the calendar.
What you can always count on
- Free to list an event. No fees, ever, for anyone.
- Published sponsor-selection criteria. We'll say no to certain sponsors, and we'll say why in advance — not after the fact.
- Sponsor logos are always subordinate to the MCW mark. No sponsor gets editorial control over programming. Ever.
- A published honoraria policy for contributors whose work is labor rather than marketing — community organizers, Indigenous partners, artists, and anyone speaking on their own time.
- One sponsorship pipeline. All sponsorship dollars flow centrally, so no individual host sells sponsorship under the MCW name on their own.
- We'll tell you what your money did. Every sponsor gets a written account after the week. Year-round partners get one annually.
